The Beckenham store – the first new location for Majestic in more than five years – offers consumers a host of new features including new Majestic branding, a new tasting counter, and new fine wine fixtures. Free delivery via new local store vans and click-and-collection services are also now available.

The size of the Majestic store estate has shrunk over recent years, with around 30 store closures in the past eight years.

John Colley, chief executive of Majestic, said: “I’m delighted to be opening two new Majestic stores this month and I’m sure our customers – both new and existing – will enjoy the revamped Majestic experience. These are two locations we’ve had our eyes on for some time” explains Colley.

“The team have worked incredibly hard, in really challenging circumstances, to get these open in time for Christmas and we’ve packed them full of some fantastic new wines, beers and spirits to help spread some joy through an unprecedented festive season. The new fine wine section in particular is mouth-watering.”

In line with government guidance, both branches will be able to welcome customers inside this November – although Majestic is also keen to stress the range of services available for all customers through to Christmas and beyond.

Colley added: “We’ve been able to adapt throughout 2020 across all our stores in the UK, and I have no doubt our teams will do the same in their new locations. Whatever we can do this winter, whether it’s free local delivery or expert advice on the end of the phone or in-store, they will be on hand.

“We strongly believe there’s a real role for bricks and mortar retail in this country, and I’m delighted that we’re able to still open stores and inspire new customers – even during such a difficult time.”
