A Walmart Supercenter in Plano, TX, is the site of a pilot program where the retailer is testing the exclusive use of self-checkouts. Store associates are positioned nearby to help customers having any problems checking out. Kroger is also testing a self-checkout concept at one of its stores in Dallas.
