Heets Teak is the eighth addition to the Heets range and offers a “toasted tobacco taste with nutty aromas”.

Each variant is available in packs of 20, retailing at £5, and will be available from December.

Nielsen data has found that the retail value share of IQOS and Heets has “surpassed” that of competitor brands in the smoke-free category.

Philips Morris said its IQOS system produces no smoke and less smell. By using real tobacco instead of an e-liquid, it “delivers a more familiar and satisfying tobacco experience”.

The company said IQOS emits on average 95% lower levels of harmful chemicals compared to cigarettes.

Kate O’Dowd, head of field force for Philip Morris, said: “The launch of Heets Teak – our eighth heated tobacco stick variant – arrives as the IQOS device becomes the UK’s number one product in the smoke-free category, which includes all e-cigarette and heated tobacco products.

“Philip Morris’ commitment to our retailer community will grow throughout 2021 to meet rising consumer demand.

“We are increasing our field force to expand into new regions and cities across the UK – supporting more retailers to stock IQOS and Heets in order to provide a better choice for adult smokers who would otherwise continue to smoke cigarettes.”
