One of Europe’s foremost eCommerce leaders is set to share his considerable experience of the industry at a free event in London next month.

Brian McBride, former chairman of global fashion brand ASOS and CEO of Amazon.co.uk, is set to headline eCommerce Live UK, which promises to help businesses to supercharge their strategy across all channels to stay ahead of the market in an era of convenience shopping.

Hosted by technology firm UKFast, eCommerce Live UK returns to London on 15th October at The Shard for a masterclass in eCommerce success and an update on the increasingly competitive eCommerce landscape.

McBride will address businesses on the revolution of convenience shopping, including the latest in mobile and social media in retail, how to engage with and impress a new breed of customer, the potential effects of AI and the next big trends in eCommerce.

Businesses led by McBride have consistently revolutionised how consumers buy and what they expect from retailers. During his time at online retail giant Amazon.co.uk, McBride saw the company’s market grow hugely, overseeing innovations like the Amazon Marketplace and Amazon Prime.

Serving as chairman for ASOS for six years until 2018, McBride now sits as Deputy Chair of Trainline and Senior Advisor with Scottish Equity Partners and Lazard’s Global Finance Advisory business, having previously served on the boards of organisations from online electric retailer AO.com to the BBC, and headed up T-Mobile UK as CEO.

Joining the keynote speaker at this year’s conference are global payment solution firm, Klarna, world-leading eCommerce personalisation platform, Nosto, Manchester-based eCommerce platform, Mercarto, and cybersecurity specialists, Secarma.

Other pressing topics set to be tackled at the event include the risks to eCommerce businesses from cyber-attacks and the place of eco-commerce in the current social climate.

UKFast CEO Lawrence Jones MBE said: “In a rapidly evolving eCommerce marketplace, it’s vital for organisations to come together at such events and share experiences and advice first-hand. eCommerce Live UK is set to educate online businesses across sectors, addressing top concerns, trends and updates shaping the eCommerce sector in 2019.”

The UK’s eCommerce sector now accounts for a fifth of all retail purchases. Online retailers face new challenges, with consumer demand for personalisation increasing and cyber-attacks growing in sophistication. Understanding the wider digital landscape is a top priority for businesses across the industry.
