Pladis launches price-marked pack format for independent retailers

Pladis has added a price-marked pack to its Flipz range in a move designed to give independent retailers “the opportunity to take an even bigger bite out of snacking”.

Flipz Milk Chocolate is available in an 80g £1 price-marked pack and is described by Jonathan Bull, head of McVitie’s commercial and seasonal brands at Pladis, as “independent retailers’ ticket to sales growth in the Everyday Treats category”.

He said the format will attract interest from the brand’s “loyal shopper base, as well as new shoppers looking to bag a bargain”.

Bull said: “Sales of Flipz are up 57% in impulse, and our Flipz Milk Chocolate variant has been a particular hit in the channel. Price-marked packs remain a sure-fire way of demonstrating value to shoppers and, in turn, driving sales – in fact, price-marked packs generate a third of the sales in the convenience channel.

“Launching Flipz Milk Chocolate in this format will help convenience store owners and wholesalers continue to drive sales and capitalise on the popularity of the Flipz brand.”
