Mondelēz International has expanded its Treatsize confectionery range for Halloween 2020, in a move designed to “help retailers get into the spooky spirit and capitalise on the growing opportunity”.

Cadbury Family Treatsize (222g) and Freddo and Friends Treatsize (191g) both retail at £2.79, with an introductory price of £1.40, and join existing Cadbury Crunchie Treatsize, Cadbury Dairy Milk Buttons Treatsize, and Cadbury Fudge Treatsize

Mondelēz said 82% of consumers claim to look out for Cadbury when shopping for confectionery, so “these launches are sure to be a hot with shoppers”.

The company said more shoppers buy Halloween-themed confectionery than standard packs during this time and 51% of incremental sales at Halloween come from chocolate confectionery.

Returning this year are Cadbury Goo Heads (40g; 55p), available in Creepy Skeleton, Pumpkin, Frankenstein, Dracula or Werewolf variants, in 40g single packs (55p), packs of five (£2.85) and an 89g Minis pack (£1.49).

Cadbury Oreoooo will also return this year in the form of an 82g bag of Oreo Mini Filled Eggs (£1), which the company said is designed to further drive impulse purchases of sharing novelties during Halloween, combining “the nation’s favourite chocolate with one of the world’s favourite biscuit brands”.

Mondelēz said sales over the Halloween period in 2019 reached £48m, with candy being a key contributor of sales growth. Returning this year in this category are Maynards Bassetts Dead Chewy bags (£1; 162g), each containing individually wrapped chews.
