Dundee Foodbank appeared on the show last week to request donations, especially tea and coffee, and was able to collect a donation of 50 cases of each product from the wholesaler’s depot on Longtown Road. A special mention of the donation was made on The One Show.

Colin McLean, chief executive of CJ Lang & Son, said: “We are very aware of the great work our local Dundee foodbank have been doing and wanted to further support them after seeing their recent appeal.

“We have more than 300 stores across Scotland, but our roots are in Dundee and we hope this donation goes a small way to helping our neighbours.”

The Spar wholesaler for Scotland and the Lang Foundation have donated almost £10,000 to foodbanks locally and across the country since March 2020.
