Unitas Wholesale is launching its product trialing scheme – brand box – for the second time after the sales initiative had to be postponed when the virus struck earlier in the year.

The scheme has been developed to encourage more independent retailers to stock successful, new products.

Brand box will include products carefully selected by Unitas in partnership with its suppliers.

The featured products will either be the latest launches from the company’s supplier partners or part of the wholesaler’s “plan for profit” range which focuses on brands they advise independents to stock.

John Kinney, Unitas Wholesale sales and marketing director, said: “We’ve developed a platform that reduces the risk for the independent retailer to support new product development at the earliest opportunity, allowing them to compete locally.

“We have developed this initiative in partnership with our suppliers in a way that provides an effective and efficient route to market.”

The first campaign begins at the end of October when 1,000 retailers will be able to trial products from leading brands including Maltesers, Pot Noodle, Red Bull and Doom Bar beer from regional brewer Sharp’s.
