The double-fronted, Costcutter-branded, store serves numerous campsites, self-catering apartments, and holiday cottages in the immediate area.

The business was previously owned by Oliver and Julie Hutchinson who decided to sell the business so that they could concentrate on their other business interests.

The store’s new owner, Wessex Retail, is a partnership between experienced retailers Tony Start and Steve Wilkinson and Spar distributor Appleby Westward.

Dave Morris, director of retail at Christie & Co, said: “Despite the challenging times that we have experienced in the UK over the last four months, the retail sector remains buoyant due to the support that local convenience stores give to their communities.”
