Spar’s own-label BWS range wins medal haul

Spar’s own-label wine and spirit has secured prizes at five international competitions.

The retailer won prizes at the International Wine Challenge, the International Wine & Spirit Competition, the International Spirits Challenge, the Global Masters, and the Sud de France Top 100 competition.

The symbol group took home a total of 29 awards at the annual International Wine Challenge. Spar scooped silver awards for its Prosecco Superiore Valdobbiadene DOCG and Spar Wildflower Pinot Noir and won a further 17 bronze and 10 commended medals at the event.

The retailer claimed 11 medals at the International Wine & Spirit Competition, with its Prosecco Superiore Valdobbiadene DOCG gaining another silver medal, and Spar Wildflower Pinot Noir winning a bronze medal. Overall the symbol group took home one silver and 10 bronze medals.

In addition, the International Spirits Challenge awarded the retailer two medals for its own-label gins. The Spar Harmonist Gin won a silver medal and the Spar London Dry Gin won a bronze medal. The retailer’s Wildflower Pinot Noir gained another bronze medal at the Global Pinot Noir Masters run by The Drinks Business.

Meanwhile, the Sud de France Top 100 competition unveiled Spar’s Regional Selection Languedoc Red as one of the top 100 wines produced in the south of France.
