The organiser of Veganuary, which encourages people to go vegan in January and beyond, is calling on retailers to get involved in next year’s event.

This year more than 400,000 people signed up to take part in the event, compared to 250,000 in 2019.

The event organiser said: “Veganuary is creating a new wave of consumers and shoppers with a big appetite. This is a real opportunity for brands, retailers and restaurants to improve, expand and promote their vegan and plant-based offerings to a bigger audience. We know that regardless of whether Veganuary participants stay vegan full-time after the pledge, those who have taken part consciously choose more plant-based options. This is one of the biggest drivers in the market for vegan products.

“Make the most of this exciting marketing opportunity by requesting the Veganuary Business Support Toolkit which includes details and examples of marketing activity, key messages, ways to support and extend the campaign on social media including assets and content to share with your audience. From our point of view, all the noise and conversation about veganism during January makes a difference – whether it’s to your customers’ health, the environment or to animals. It’s a win-win for everyone and a great opportunity to make the most of this key moment in the marketing calendar.”

Retailers can request the Toolkit by emailing corporate@veganuary.com.
