Spend a day with boxing champion with Lucozade Sport promotion

Lucozade Sport is set to run an on-pack promotion to offer one shopper the chance to meet boxer Anthony Joshua.

The promotion will run from November 2020 to January 2021, in time for Joshua’s match in December, across 500ml packs of Lucozade Sport Orange, Raspberry, and Fruit Punch, offering one shopper the chance to win a training day with Joshua. Runner-up prizes include 20 pairs of signed boxing gloves.

Shoppers must submit a code found on promotional packs on the Lucozade Sport website.

The competition will be supported by digital, out-of-home, social media, and PR advertising, as well as POS material for retailers.

Tom Bell, head of marketing for Lucozade Sport, says: “The partnership between Anthony Joshua and Lucozade Sport has proved irresistible to shoppers over the past couple of years.

“In the past year, Lucozade Sport Fruit Punch – featuring Joshua on pack – has driven sales of almost £8m – making it an important pillar of the £112m Lucozade Sport brand.

“The insight behind on-pack prize offers show consumers who perceive they have a good chance of winning are more likely to enter, hence the additional 20 pairs of signed gloves- driving entries and purchase.”

The brand said previous promotions have proved equally popular, as last year’s partnership with the England Lionesses women’s football team and their feature on Lucozade Sport bottles “helped drive increased in-store visibility for the brand and resulted in a sales uplift of 37%”.
