Magento Website Design Services

Unparalleled user experience requires painstaking work from Magento web designers, data analysts, developers, QA, and other professionals. As a full-cycle agency, we’ll take on all the tasks and bring your Magento store to perfection.

  • Custom Magento Theme Design Services
Many of our clients end up ordering a custom-made theme for Magento. It’s a full-fledged frontend for the store, providing a smooth and pleasant shopping experience on any device. The most refined solution of this kind is a Magento PWA theme. It’s a game-changer boasting a higher loading speed due to a changed website architecture.
  • Magento UX/UI Design Services
It’s one of the most in-demand Magento eCommerce design services we offer because the store’s success largely depends on how the interface is designed. And first and foremost, we’re talking about its convenience. If it’s a new store, our Magento website designers do research on your prospective audience and competitors and listen to your business needs and doubts. If it’s an existing one, we also analyze KPIs and customer behavior patterns before creating personas and a customer journey map with all the insights and key UX/UI ideas.
  • Magento Website Redesign Services
Basically, we advise revamping the store every 3 to 5 years, with some cosmetic changes implemented from time to time. When it comes to a major redesign, we have a few options. It can be redesigning one page most hurting your conversions: typically, it’s a checkout. Also, we often rethink several key pages to significantly improve the UX. At last, you can order an entire redesign with all pages undergoing a makeover. As an additional service, we create new logos and the whole brand style if needed.
  • Magento Responsive Design Services
Store responsiveness lies in its compatibility with whatever device customers use to shop from you. We mean smartphones of any screen size, tablets, laptops, and PCs. A really responsive design fits any screen perfectly and remains easy to use. As a rule, we create two separate template sets for mobiles and desktops, each meeting its usability rules that are sometimes dramatically different.
  • Magento Mobile Design Services
Onilab’s team got pros in creating user-friendly and refined mobile UX/UI designs for very different stores. We embrace best practices in native app design and development to make our web solutions look and feel like the handiest eCommerce mobile applications. Magento Mobile Design Services

Onilab’s team got pros in creating user-friendly and refined mobile UX/UI designs for very different stores. We embrace best practices in native app design and development to make our web solutions look and feel like the handiest eCommerce mobile applications. So, with us, you won’t spend a fortune to get such a product.

Our Core UX/UI Design Principles

Onilab’s clients are beauty, home decor, and electronics stores, fashion boutiques, B2B marketplaces, travel agencies, and other eCommerce businesses. Each has its peculiarities, needs unique features, and wants to satisfy its audience. Here are the golden rules we’ve determined for the design work to guarantee project success.

A customer-centric approach

One and only reason behind any design change is to improve the user experience. The more comfortable and fast to navigate a store, find the needed info, and check out, the more people will visit the website and purchase something. And then return. So we put a lot of effort into studying the behavioral patterns of your customers, detecting sales funnel obstacles, and ideating moves to make this journey frictionless.

A conversion-oriented approach

Any design change must be justified by its direct or indirect impact on sales. Our Magento website design company is very into practical, functional, and efficient solutions. Where possible, we start with reworking the checkout page and navigation because, in practice, they’re the main cause of a high cart abandonment rate. Then go to other essential ones: the product page, homepage, and categories.

A mobile-first approach

Since mobile commerce is only gaining momentum, we should react correspondingly. So, we reversed the conventional sequencing and began creating mobile templates first. It helped us to move away from the old scheme when the desktop design heavily influenced the mobile one. Now, when we start with limited screen space, each feature is well-thought-out, and there are no redundant elements. As a nice bonus, we also obtain clearer and more minimalistic desktop layouts.

Web Design for Magento: the Process

Over time, we streamlined our Magento web design services to deliver really actionable solutions within a shorter timeframe. Here is how the stages from research to actual UX/UI design, feature prioritization, development, and implementation look.

  1. Research

This step defines the efficiency of any future change in the store design. We conduct an all-comprehensive analysis of the store, its visitors, essential metrics, and competing websites. We start with conducting an interview with a client and filling out the brief to understand their vision. Then we move to the Google Analytics reports, scroll/heatmaps, and recorded user sessions to spot customer journey hurdles and investigate their causes. We pay close attention to customer service records which are a valuable source of shoppers' feedback. We also carry out usability testing and user interviews.

  2. Customer Journey Mapping

Magento eCommerce web design of decent quality is unimaginable without this step. We divide the store audience (existing or potential) into segments and describe each in the form of personas. Based on the initial research, we then compile a customer journey map. It considers shoppers’ needs, feelings, and pain points throughout the conversion funnel. At this stage, we have strong hypotheses on what’s wrong with the current UX and outline the ideas and features we’re about to create.

  3. Wireframing

It’s the stage when our design team works on the interface itself: organizing blocks, defining informational and visual hierarchy, drawing icons, deciding how to embody different features and how they will behave in interaction with users. Then goes Magento UI design. During the process, we discuss the solutions and possible options with clients.

  4. Development, QA, and Release

When the templates are ready, designers add comments on the logic of interaction, explain some features, and pass the task to the developers. The redesign is a time-consuming undertaking, so we have to do some prioritization and select the pages and functionality to implement first. We often release these parts as soon as they’re ready. This way, the client sees the first positive outcomes faster.

Magento Website Design Services FAQ

Why do I need a custom-made store design?

Well, you can go with a default Magento interface, but each Magento website designer will say you’ll miss many possibilities to convert visitors. It’s simply because a standard UX/UI doesn’t reflect your target audience's and store’s peculiarities. But if you want it to, our Magento design services are at your disposal.

Which approach to (re)design should I opt for?

Basically, you have three paths. The first is to steadily, page by page, change the design and implement new versions once they’re ready. The second is to carry out a complete redesign when we rethink all store’s UX and UI aspects and then launch a totally new version. The third is to not only redesign the store (partly or entirely) but also to make a tech leap to a headless frontend. It’s when we decouple the frontend and backend and make them communicate through an API for the sake of higher loading speed and more flexibility design-wise. BTW, the latter is one of the most demanded Magento 2 web design services to date.

How long does it take to fully redesign a website in your Magento UX design agency?

Roughly, it takes about 2 to 3 months to study your project and finish the UX/UI creation. But then goes the development part, as well as QA and deployment stages. The time estimate for them hugely depends on the store size, type, Magento version, needed customizations, and other factors.

How often should I redesign the store?

Within a three to five years time span, any store gets outdated in a way. So we’d recommend introducing major UX/UI changes at least once in five years. But it’s better if you make design improvements here and there more often, guided by the analytics you keep track of. Turn to our Magento web design services to make your store look up-to-date and attractive to prospects.
