The Decanter World Wine Awards is the world’s largest wine competition where 116 of the world’s top wine experts, including 37 Masters of Wine, completed judging under strict Covid-19 safety guidelines earlier this year.

The Wildflower Pinot Grigio 2019, which is made from handpicked grapes grown in the Banat region of Western Romania, is sourced from wine exporter Cramele Recas.

Spar wine consultant, Philippa Carr, said: “Spar works closely with all its wine producers, including Cramele Recas, to offer customers great value for money and this medal proves there are world-class quality wines to be found in Spar convenience stores. In addition, the fact that this wine is also suitable for vegetarians and vegans is a real plus.”

Wildflower Pinot Grigio 2019 is currently available on promotion for £5.99 in participating Spar stores in England, Scotland and Wales until 14 October 2020.
