Circuit City Plans to Curate Shop-in-Shops Using its Electronics Expertise

Circuit City has launched a Series A funding round along with plans for alliances with national companies, though it did not identify which companies will be involved. These “Powered by Circuit City” partnerships will be centered on store-in-store concepts designed to seamlessly integrate the retailer’s electronics expertise and global brand awareness with other retail platforms, both online and in-store. Circuit City also will support the partnerships with its customer service, private label products and white-glove consumer electronics experience.

The integrations are slated to begin online and in select locations this year, with a more expansive rollout planned for 2024. After it closed its last brick-and-mortar retail store in 2009, Circuit City launched a comeback in 2018 with an experiential ecommerce site.

“The partnerships are a collaboration of iconic brands, reflecting Circuit City’s dedication to innovation and commitment to delivering strategic AI-driven solutions to an even wider customer base,” said Ronny Shmoel, CEO of Circuit City in a statement.
