The 2025 Toyota 4Runner Has Been Revealed
April 11, 2024
The long-awaited arrival of the 2025 Toyota 4Runner marks the beginning of its sixth generation, bidding farewell to the fifth generation’s successful 15-year stint. The latest lineup introduces two new trims, the Trailhunter and Platinum, alongside existing models like the SR5, TRD Sport, TRD Off-Road, Limited, and TRD Pro.
Under the hood, most models boast an i-Force 2.4-liter turbocharged engine, delivering a robust 278 horsepower. Additionally, select variants offer the i-Force Max hybrid system, elevating the power output to an impressive 326 horsepower.
From the outside, the new 4Runner bears a striking resemblance to the Tacoma SUV, featuring similar exterior styling cues and interior features. Its wider stance and enhanced frame nod to its off-road capabilities, with notable additions like prominent fender flares and larger tires for improved clearance.
Inside, the 4Runner mirrors the layout of the Tacoma, boasting a user-friendly interface and thoughtful storage features. The availability of a 14-inch infotainment touchscreen with wireless connectivity enhances the driving experience.
Engine options include the base 2.4-liter i-Force turbocharged engine, delivering ample power and fuel efficiency. For those seeking even more performance, the i-Force Max hybrid system offers increased horsepower and torque while potentially improving fuel economy.
Furthermore, the 4Runner reintroduces the optional third-row seat, providing additional seating capacity for passengers. However, its availability may be limited based on the chosen powertrain configuration.
Built on the TNGA-F frame and suspension architecture shared with the Tacoma and Land Cruiser, the new 4Runner boasts a revamped suspension system optimized for various terrains. Trim-specific enhancements, such as Fox QS3 dampers and robust skid plates, cater to different driving preferences.
With its release scheduled for fall 2024, the 2025 Toyota 4Runner promises an exhilarating driving experience coupled with enhanced features and capabilities. Despite the lengthy wait, anticipation for this sixth-generation model is palpable, offering a compelling choice for SUV enthusiasts.
