American Airlines Expands Service to Caribbean and Latin America

May 17, 2024

As the travel industry experiences a post-pandemic resurgence, American Airlines is capitalizing on the growing demand for vacation destinations in Latin America and the Caribbean. With flight bookings to popular spots like the Dominican Republic, Costa Rica, and Aruba on the rise, American Airlines has announced eight new routes to cater to sun-seeking travelers.

The new routes include a daily flight from Miami to La Romana in the Dominican Republic, set to begin on Dec. 5, and a Saturday service from Charlotte International Airport to St. Vincent and the Grenadines starting on Dec. 7. American Airlines aims to offer “nonstop fun in the sun” with these new routes, providing travelers with more options to explore tropical getaways.

Additional routes announced by American Airlines include flights from JFK to three small Caribbean nations — St. Lucia, St. Maarten, and Saint Vincent and the Grenadines. Flights to these Caribbean islands will operate weekly, offering travelers convenient options to escape to paradise.

The expansion of service to the Caribbean and Latin America demonstrates American Airlines’ commitment to meeting the growing demand for leisure travel. With an increase in departures and available seats, the airline aims to provide customers with enhanced access to popular vacation destinations.

Tickets for the new routes will be available for purchase on American’s website starting May 20. In addition to the new routes, American Airlines will also increase service on existing popular routes, ensuring travelers have ample options to plan their winter getaways.

During the winter sun-seeking season, American Airlines anticipates reaching a peak of 2,350 weekly flights to over 95 destinations in Latin America and the Caribbean. With the expansion of its flight network, American Airlines continues to position itself as a leading choice for travelers seeking tropical destinations.
