If you’re a retailer and donโ€™t yet have an SMS marketing tool to plan and execute your SMS campaigns, now’s the time to start looking. Otherwise, you might risk getting left behind!

CartFox is one such SMS marketing platform. But how good is it? In this CartFox review, I’ll endeavor to answer that question and share everything you need to know to decide whether this platform is the right choice for you.

However, if you don’t have time to read my entire CartFox review, here are the headlines:

CartFox is an intuitive SMS marketing platform that enables you to launch the following:

  • Targeted SMS campaigns, allowing you to share special promos and discounts with your SMS list.
  • Post-purchase notifications that alert customers to similar products or remind them to buy their refills.
  • Abandoned cart reminders – i.e., automated SMS messages that prompt shoppers to return to your site and complete their orders.

Overall, I think CartFox is best suited to mid-level businesses with a global audience with other customer service features in place. I.e., email, telephone support, etc., and they just want to add SMS campaigns into the mix. CartFoxโ€™s most significant strength is its usability and speedy set-up time.

With that in mind, let’s dive into the nitty gritty of this CartFox review:

CartFox Features

Here’s a quick rundown of some of CartFoxโ€™s most impressive features:

Dashboard

Cartfox Review

CartFox’s dashboard is intuitive. Here you’ll find an overview of the revenue youโ€™ve generated, subscribers, costs, and recovered orders over the last seven days.

At this point, itโ€™s worth noting that CartFox permits you to integrate with multiple domains, so you can customize your messaging for each website you have (more on this directly below). Then, from your CartFox dashboard, you can easily toggle between the different websites youโ€™ve integrated CartFox with.

Integrations

CartFox integrates with several eCommerce platforms, including:

  • Shopify
  • OpenCart
  • WooCommerce
  • PrestaShop
  • Magento

Alternatively, if youโ€™re using a custom-made solution, you can contact CartFox directly, and theyโ€™ll see if they can help integrate your platform with CartFox.

Templates

Cartfox Review

CartFox comes with 25 templates for abandoned carts and post-purchase messages. Theyโ€™re all customizable, so you can make them as unique to your brand as you like.

Templates are also easy to toggle on and off. With just a click, you can switch templates, making it easy to test different messages.

Translations

Cartfox Review

CartFox allows you to localize text messages for specific countries. In fact, you can send messages in up to 60 different languages! This makes setting up SMS marketing campaigns for the countries you sell to easy and should help maximize ROI.

ChatGPT Support

Cartfox Review

A marker of innovative platforms in 2023, yes, you guessed it, Iโ€™m talking about AI

CartFox is equipped with OpenAIโ€™s ChatGTP support. As a result, you can access this chatbot tool straight out of the box when customizing your abandoned cart messages.

However, having tested it out, it seems a little clunky, with the results not bearing much resemblance to my initial inputs.

However, if Iโ€™ve learned anything from the recent AI explosion, it’s that this tech will improve! So, for now, Iโ€™ll say it’s likely to become a pretty neat feature worth keeping an eye on!

Cartfox Review

CartFox has an integrated link shortener to save precious characters in your SMSs! But please note this costs a little extra, at around $19 per month per domain.

Audience Segmentation

Another recently added feature is audience segmentation based on order history, allowing you to automatically trigger SMS campaigns based on the following:

  • How many orders customers make
  • The length of time it’s been since they placed an order
  • Which website they placed their order on

CartFox Customer Support

Cartfox Review

CartFox offers several self-help resources to help you get started, including step-by-step instructions on setting up your CMS integration and an interactive tutorial that walks you through the dashboard. The tutorial is surprisingly engaging, offering tips on how to get the most out of the platform.

More impressively, they even advertise a free consultant agent to support you throughout the entire CartFox process!

They also have a support tab that you can click on within your dashboard. From there, you can ping over a support ticket. Alternatively, theyโ€™ve also listed their customer service email address ([email protected]) and telephone number +386 71 224 581. Their operating hours are Monday to Friday, 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM. However, a time zone wasnโ€™t listed on its website. But, as this company is based in Solvenia, I can only assume Central European Summer Time applies.

I also want to highlight that CartFoxโ€™s customer support service seems excellent.ย User re/topviewsย rave about how friendly and helpful the customer service is. I also liked that you could feel the presence of CartFoxโ€™s customer support team on almost every review I could find! From this, we could infer that CartFox is dedicated to engaging with its users and improving its product to ensure users get the best possible experience.ย

CartFox Pricing

Cartfox Review

You might be pleased to hear that CartFox operates on a no-subscription model. This means you buy credits for your account and pay per SMS message you send.

CartFox charges around $0.03 per SMS sent and gives you 300 free SMSs when you first sign up.

CartFox claims to have the lowest prices per European SMS message. Admittedly, this is a vague statement; however, it certainly implies CartFoxโ€™s rates are competitive compared to similar services – and a little research shows that this is true, with CartFox beating its major competitor Salesmsg.

Salesmsg operates on a subscription service. However, even if you were to use every last SMS from a Salesmsg plan, you would pay around $0.04 per SMS, more than CartFox (depending on where you’re sending SMS messages too).

Cartfox Review

CartFox also has a handy return on investment (ROI) calculator based on your daily sales. However, these quotes assume youโ€™ll generate 49 additional monthly sales for every 300 sales you typically get. Unfortunately, CartFox doesnโ€™t explain where that figure of 49 extra sales comes from.

That said, user reviews are astoundingly positive, with customers across the board saying theyโ€™re seeing a significant ROI.ย

CartFox’s Pros

No software review would be complete without a quick glance at the platformโ€™s pros and cons, so below, Iโ€™ve quickly outlined CartFoxโ€™s most notable advantages and disadvantages:

Itโ€™s Easy to use

Overwhelmingly, the most positive feedback was focused on the incredible usability of the platform. We have seen countless reviews praising how seamless the process of setting up with CartFox is, and from my own testing, I agree entirely!

To sign up, you just pop in a few basic details, and within a few seconds, you and your free credits are in. The dashboard is also straightforward and intuitive, so you should be able to familiarize yourself with the platform in next-to-no time.

ROI

CartFox shares some crazy case studies of customers who have claimed a whopping 47,581% ROI!

Customization

You can, of course, customize your SMS messages to say whatever you like, but there are lots more you can make your own.

For instance, you can:

  • Make a custom list of โ€œunsubscribeโ€ words
  • Choose which languages you want to send your messages in.
  • Import your own custom lists of subscribers.
  • Create groups to send specific discounts to.
  • Create delays on message send times; so you never accidentally send messages to sleepy customers in the dead of night!

Regular Updates

CartFox is a growing brand that’s continually improving its offering.

For example, ChatGPT only launched in November 2022, and although it hasnโ€™t been around for long, it’s already been built into CartFoxโ€™s platform.

Similarly, CartFox recently added extra audience segmentation features (as discussed above) to enable you to better customize your SMS campaigns.

This is a big win for users, with many customer reviews highlighting how regularly they see new features popping up.

The bottom line:ย CartFox clearly has improvements and upgrades at the forefront of their minds, which can only be a good thing!

Cons (Or Things to Be Aware Of)

There don’t appear to be too many bad things to say about CartFox, but if pushed, I’d have to say that I’ve seen two minor hiccups. However, these points arenโ€™t necessarily cons; they’re more โ€œthings to be aware of.โ€

Price

While CartFox is competitively priced, it isnโ€™t until you invest a fair amount into the product that the results start paying off. ROI is smaller for small businesses that aren’t yet turning over dozens of sales daily. Its calculator doesn’t allow you to generate an estimate for businesses where their average cart value is under ten euros, and you’re generating less than ten sales a day.

But with its no-subscription pricing model and 300 free SMS messages, CartFox is still worth testing out – even if youโ€™re a small business!

Also, (and I caveat what Iโ€™m about to say by highlighting that I appreciate that case studies shared by companies are often riddled with biases). However, CartFox does share a compelling example of a small business that got a lot out of its CartFox experience. So, if youโ€™re a small business, that might be worth a read!

Stability

From my experience testing the platform, it seems slick and easy to use.

However, I would be remiss to ignore at least one complaint about a lack of stability.

That said, these reviews appear infrequent, and CartFox openly replies that they’re working hard to improve stability.ย ย

CartFox Competitors

How does CartFox compare to big names like Attentive, Salesmsg, and Birdeye?

All these alternatives seem to offer extra features compared to CartFox. For example, Salesmsg comes with a free local or toll-free number as standard to facilitate voice calls with your customers. Itโ€™s more pricey than CartFox but could be a good option if youโ€™re looking for an SMS and voice call platform.

Meanwhile, Birdeye and Attentive enable you to run a fully comprehensive customer support platform. Birdeye provides users with a complete digital customer experience platform that supports SMS messages, calling, AUTOMATED social sharing, review monitoring, and more. On the other hand, Attentive has an SMS focus but also provides email marketing and compliance support.

But, arguably, what these platforms donโ€™t offer is the same ease of use and simplicity of CartFox. Not to mention, unlike CartFox, all three platforms either require demo bookings or debit card details just to get started.

The bottom line:ย If youโ€™re a larger company looking for an all-in-one platform to manage your customer service offering, you might be better suited to a product like Attentive or Birdeye. In contrast, if you just want an SMS messaging service, CartFox might better meet your needs.ย

CartFox Review: My Final Verdict

So, there you have it – that brings us to the end of my CartFox review.

As SMS marketing becomes increasingly popular, finding a tool that works for you is essential, and I think CartFox is definitely a solid option.

Compared to its competitors, CartFox is reasonably priced. With 300 free SMSs, even the smallest businesses can give it a go!

However, CartFoxโ€™s main strength lies in its ease of use. The platform takes minutes to set up, and thereโ€™s plenty of help available should you get stuck.

Overall, CartFox is loved by its audience, and it’s easy to see why!

But what do you think? Would you try CartFox? Or are you using a different SMS marketing service? Tell us your experience in the comments box below!
