New York speeds up approvals for legal weed shops

New York has approved licenses for 99 recreational marijuana shops as the state tries to expedite the process two years after the state legalized the sale of cannabis products to adults. Only seven legal shops have opened in the state to date. “We’re absolutely thrilled that we’re able to expand the rollout of legalized cannabis across almost every region of the state,” said Tremaine Wright, chair of the Cannabis Control Board.
