Volvo to End Diesel Car Production by Early 2024

September 21, 2023

Volvo Cars has announced plans to cease production of any remaining diesel models by early 2024 as part of its transition toward becoming an all-electric car manufacturer. This move positions Volvo among the first traditional automakers to take such a step. While diesel vehicles made up over 50% of Europe’s new car sales in 2015, they accounted for just over 14% in July 2023, reflecting the steady decline of diesel models in the market.
