He will take on a dual role as the executive vice president and creative director of Gap Inc., as well as the chief creative officer of Old Navy. As the newly appointed chief creative officer of Old Navy, Posen will be responsible for leading design, merchandising, and marketing strategies. Old Navy is the second-largest apparel brand in the U.S. and also the biggest within Gap Inc. Posen will work closely with Haio Barbeito, the president and CEO of Old Navy.
The leadership at Old Navy believes that Posen’s talent and creativity will add a new dimension to the brand, helping to restore its image in terms of fit, quality, and style for the entire family.
Gap Inc.’s influence on American fashion and pop culture is significant, and Posen is eager to contribute to the brand’s evolution. “I’m eager to join Gap Inc. now as brand reinvigoration kicks up across the portfolio, rooted in great product, experiences, and a new culture of creativity,” he said.
In his role as creative director of Gap Inc., Posen will act as a creative partner and cultural advisor to Richard Dickson, the president and CEO. This appointment is part of a broader initiative by Gap Inc. to redefine its place in the industry. This follows the recent appointments of Eric Chan as chief business and strategy officer and Amy Thompson as chief people officer. Gap Inc. is focused on assembling a top-tier leadership team to navigate the company into a new era of operational efficiency, brand revitalization, and cultural relevance.
