Tampa Bay Fisheries Inc. and 365 Whole Foods Mart Recall Fish Products

December 26, 2023

Tampa Bay Fisheries, Inc., in the interest of consumer safety, is voluntarily announcing a product recall. The issue is related to an undeclared allergen — soy — in some of its Beer Battered Pollock and Cod Fillets sold under the brand name 365 Whole Foods Mart.

The specific details of the products affected by this recall include:

  1. 365 Whole Foods Market “Beer Battered Pollock Fillets” (32-ounce bags) with UPC 9948249803, Lot# 32508201, and Best By of 03/07/2025. The lot number and date can be found on the back of the bag.
  2. 365 Whole Foods Market “Beer Battered Cod Fillets” (12-ounce cartons) with UPC 9948248051, Lot# 32348201, and Best By of 02/22/2025, as well as Lot# 32628201 with a Best By of 03/19/2025. The specific details are on the end side of the cartons.

The recall has been initiated due to the finding of soy in the product. Soy is not declared on the product label, which may pose a risk to people with allergies or severe sensitivity to soy. Consumption of these products could lead to a serious or even life-threatening allergic reaction.

This issue affects products that were available for purchase at Whole Foods Market stores nationwide between Sept. 8, 2023, and Dec. 22, 2023. No illnesses or adverse effects have been reported related to this recall as of yet. Only the specifically identified lots are involved in this recall, and all affected products have since been removed from store shelves.

For those who have purchased these products, the FDA advises against consuming them. Instead, dispose of them safely. To compensate for this inconvenience, customers can bring a valid receipt to a Whole Foods Market store for a full refund.

For any further details or inquiries, customers can reach out to Tampa Bay Fisheries, Inc. at (800)-SEAFOOD from Monday to Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. ET.
