The San Diego Auto Show Returns for 2023

December 29, 2023

This weekend, San Diego will be brimming with automotive enthusiasm as the San Diego International Auto Show rolls into town. The event, which takes place at the San Diego Convention Center from Dec. 29, 2023, through Jan. 1, 2024, promises an impressive assortment of more than 400 vehicles hailing from over 30 international manufacturers, ready to dazzle attendees with their advanced features and innovative designs.

Automobile enthusiasts will have the opportunity to explore the latest 2023 and 2024 models along with cutting-edge automotive technology. Among the throng of vehicles available for perusal, attendees can expect to be some of the first in the U.S. to get a glimpse of over 20 fresh unveilings, vehicles that are yet to make their appearance in showrooms.

For those interested in eco-friendly alternatives, the event offers an in-depth look at the latest electric vehicles. The dedicated Electric Avenue segment of the show will feature a variety of plug-in models from automotive giants such as Cadillac, Chrysler, Ford, Hyundai, Kia, Mazda, Mitsubishi, Subaru, Toyota, and Volkswagen. Particular attention will be drawn to Volkswagen’s new orange bus, the “ID Buzz.”

In addition to static displays, attendees will have the chance to actively engage with select models through street test drives, taking place by the front drive of the Convention Center each day of the event between 10 a.m. and 5 p.m.

Beyond the allure of the cars themselves, the event promises a lively atmosphere brimming with fun new features, interactive activities, and family entertainment. For example, the “Subaru Loves Pets” initiative, the most popular non-automotive event at the show, will offer the unique chance to adopt a dog while shopping for your new car. Since its launch in 2018, the initiative has helped over 1,200 pets find new homes.

Active and retired military members can take advantage of free tickets to the event, courtesy of county Nissan Dealers, while supplies last. Regular ticket prices stand at $18 for adults, $15 for military personnel and seniors, and $12 for children ages 7-12. Children under 6 are admitted for free, and all children 12 and under get free access on Family Day, which is Sunday, Dec. 31, when accompanied by a paying adult.

Additionally, the show’s partnership with Golden Boy Mobility will provide attendees access to a variety of vehicles modified for accessibility, further promoting and providing accessibility at the event.
