Women are going to college, many men are not

The amount of students enrolled in higher education institutions in the U.S. has fallen by 1.5 million over the past five years with 71 percent of that decline represented by males. The percentage of women attending college and earning degrees has continued to grow as a part of the whole. Nearly 60 percent of college students for the 2020-21 academic year were female, according to the National Student Clearinghouse.
