More than seven million Americans have lost all of their unemployment benefits yesterday when three federal programs put in place due to the economic hardship caused by the novel coronavirus pandemic ended. “If past periods have been an indicator, many will be caught in a spiral that will lead to a downward quality of life,” said Andrew Stettner, a senior fellow at the Century Foundation.
