CarParts.com Taps Former Amazon Exec as COO

CarParts.com snags former Amazon exec for COO role.

Former Amazon Fresh Grocery VP Michael Huffaker has been appointed as Chief Operating Officer of CarParts.com as the ecommerce retailer looks to “continuously stay ahead of the curve.”

As COO, Huffaker will be responsible for ensuring customers receive a world-class experience from the moment they place an order to the time it arrives on their doorstep. He is tasked with doubling down on the level of service offered by the company by building and scaling its supply chains and focusing on product and business management as well as building large, diverse teams.

“I’ve been following the trajectory of CarParts.com for some time now, and it’s impressive to see their growth, success and impact on the industry,” said Huffaker in a statement. “I look forward to identifying areas of opportunity, specifically focusing on delivery speed, safety and reliability, and applying my background to various sectors of the business. I am confident we can enhance operations, accuracy and profitability for the company today and in the years to come.”

The appointment comes on the heels of 11 consecutive quarters of double-digit revenue growth for the company and is the fourth strategic executive appointment this year. In March, CEO Lev Peker stepped down and current COO and CFO David Meniane was promoted to Chief Executive. At the  time, current SVP of Finance Ryan Lockwood was promoted to CFO. Then in April, the company brought in Lowe’s former VP of Ecommerce Technology, Kals Subramanian, as Chief Technology Officer (CTO). Current CTO Sanjiv Gomes was promoted into the newly created position of Chief Information Officer at the time.

“As we look to the future of CarParts.com and what is needed to take our business to the next level, Michael was the obvious choice for COO,” said Meniane in a statement. “It is clear he is a customer-centric executive with the financial discipline and operational excellence required to not only succeed but thrive within our organization. His skills and mindset mirror those of the company, and together we can accomplish great things.”
