Consumers purchased 10.3 percent fewer items when shopping in c-stores at the end of 2022. Dollar sales declined 0.3 percent providing evidence of higher prices in the channel. ”If we see people buying fewer items overall to save money, that means they’re pulling back on impulse purchases,” said Emily Moquin, food and beverage analyst at Morning Consult.
