Crate & Barrel Holdings (CBH) will embark on a multi-year digital transformation that will leverage significant investments in talent, technology and infrastructure. Key elements include doubling the size of the retailer’s tech team over the next three years and transferring both business intelligence and customer relationship management responsibilities to the newly enlarged team.

The retailer also plans to build a new tech stack designed for multi-brand, multi-channel and multi-country growth opportunities, as well as accelerating universal apps and platforms with next-generation AI technology for a more personalized, premium and seamless customer experience.

Crate & Barrel will use these advanced solutions to optimize inventory, use real-time data to predict demand, automate decisions and help keep its promise of fast, complete, reliable delivery. Additionally, the transformation plan will allow Crate & Barrel to enhance its supply chain with a proprietary process that maximizes efficiencies, leading to an improved customer experience and a reduced carbon footprint.

“We have learned so much over the past three years as we have navigated through both a global pandemic and a supply chain crisis,” said Janet Hayes, CEO of Crate & Barrel Holdings in a statement. “By leading with a modern mindset, we experienced unprecedented growth during these times of tremendous pressure and these investments will help us maintain that momentum.”
