Powerball Jackpot Jumps to $750 Million After Wednesday’s Game Had No Top Winners
March 21, 2024
The Powerball jackpot has skyrocketed to an estimated total of $750 million after no tickets matched all six numbers from yesterday’s game. This is a significant jackpot, which has sparked the excitement and anticipation of lottery enthusiasts across the nation.
The winning numbers were 13, 22, 27, 54, 66, and Powerball 9.
The current increased jackpot, which has an estimated cash value of $357.3 million, will be up for grabs in the next game on Saturday.
The last time the Powerball jackpot was won was in January, when a ticket in Michigan scored a prize worth $842.4 million. Since then, there have been 34 consecutive drawings without a grand prize winner, according to the lottery.
Despite there not being any winner of the grand jackpot on Wednesday, 27 players won a minimum of $50,000.
While the odds of winning any prize in the Powerball lottery is 1 in 24.87, the likelihood of hitting the jackpot is significantly slimmer, with odds calculated to be 1 in 292.2 million. These figures highlight the challenges faced by players in winning the grand prize.
Not only has the Powerball jackpot been rapidly rising this week, but the Mega Millions jackpot has also seen a spike. According to Mega Millions officials, after Tuesday’s drawing where there were no winners, the grand prize for Friday’s drawing is estimated to reach $977 million.
As the anticipation builds up for Saturday’s drawing, if there is a winner that opts for the lump-sum payment choice, they stand to claim a substantial prize of $357.3 million after taxes, as confirmed by lottery officials.
