Netflix announced that it is looking to become a player in the video gaming category with an initial focus on mobile gaming. The video streaming subscription service is initially planning to concentrate on games that tie into some of its most popular programming. The company sees the potential for developing video content in the future from games it develops. “There’s a a big, big prize here, and our job is to be really focused,” said Greg Peters, Netflix’s chief product officer.
