Fast-growing convenience operator on course to almost double retail empire

Amacor has recently taken on two sites – in Speke, Liverpool, and Blackpool, Lancashire – and both are being transformed into Nisa Local outlets.

It means the company now operates 12 stores and has ambitious plans to grow to 20 outlets by the end of 2021.

It is rapid progress for a company that only purchased its first convenience business as recently as June 2018.

Martin Corban, managing director of Amacor, said: “Throughout this year, local convenience stores have really grown in importance and we are keen to seize the opportunity to build on this and invest in sites that we believe we can take forward.

“We are ambitious and have plans to grow our business considerably over the next 12 months.

“We’re always looking for opportunities to expand and are interested in sites which are already trading and have potential to grow further.”

The Nisa Local store in Blackpool, which was previously a Sainsbury’s outlet, is set to open this week.

The refurbishment includes an enhanced food-to-go  offering, Rollover machine, Rijo42 coffee machine and additional chilling for alcohol.

The Nisa Local in Speke was acquired from an established Nisa retailer and plans are now being made to develop the site in 2021.

Amacor operates a wide range of stores, including a forecourt, across the north west of England with locations in Liverpool, North Wales, Cheshire, Lancashire, Greater Manchester and Staffordshire.
