Onvo Releases Hot Food on the Fly for Travelers

April 4, 2024

Onvo, a travel plaza chain headquartered in Scranton, Pennsylvania, is launching its latest initiative, Food on the Fly, at a travel plaza in Dorrance, Pennsylvania. This program is tailored to cater to the needs of travelers and professional truck drivers, providing them with quick and convenient hot grab-and-go options on their journeys.

Food on the Fly boasts a menu centered around Onvo’s newest creation, the toasty Craveritos, alongside hearty bowls and snackable sides, ensuring there’s something for every mealtime, be it breakfast, lunch, or dinner.

To mark the inauguration of the program, Onvo is giving away 100 of its signature Craveritos at the Dorrance location on April 4, also known as National Burrito Day. However, this giveaway is limited to one per customer.

Following its debut in Dorrance, the hot grab-and-go offerings will gradually extend to all Onvo locations in the foreseeable future. Additionally, at upcoming new-to-industry Onvo sites, Food on the Fly will introduce a made-to-order area, providing guests with an expanded menu and the option to personalize their selections from the existing grab-and-go offerings.

Harman Aulakh, vice president of marketing at Onvo, expressed the company’s enthusiasm for this new venture, believing it to be a remarkable way to cater to travelers and truck drivers with appetizing and distinctive food options. “It’s an exciting new chapter for the company, and we look forward to serving our guests even more delicious food in the future,” he said.

Notably, other convenience store retailers are also capitalizing on National Burrito Day with enticing promotions. Yesway, for instance, is offering a buy-one-get-one deal on beef and bean burritos exclusively for Yesway and Allsup’s Rewards members. Meanwhile, Maverik — Adventure’s First Stop and Kum & Go are providing a 50% discount on burritos throughout the day through their respective loyalty programs.

Onvo, deeply rooted in Scranton, Pennsylvania, caters to traveling motorists through an extensive network, comprising 39 travel plazas and gas stations, 25 quick-service and full-service restaurants, and six hotels across northeastern and central Pennsylvania and upstate New York.
