McCoy’s Hot Mexican Chilli and Penn State Sour Cream & Chive pretzels are both now available in £1 price-marked packs, and Popchips BBQ and Sour Cream & Chive £1 price-marked packs now replace the previous £1.29 price.

The new Popchips and McCoy’s products are available now and Penn State will be available from October.

KP Snacks said 42% of shoppers buy crisps and snacks on impulse and price-marked packs are a “huge driving force behind this, with £1 price-marked pack ranges growing ahead of the market at 15%”.

Matt Collins, trading director at KP Snacks, said: “In recent months there has been a marked increase in savoury snacking occasions, with crisps, snacks, and nuts being the fastest growing snack and showing up in 70% more convenience baskets during lockdown.

“However, with the current circumstances, consumers are likely to be more price conscious, so we feel it is important to offer products at an affordable price point and help retailers retain the baskets that they gained over lockdown”.
