CJ Lang sells Airdrie store

CJ Lang, the wholesaler for Spar stores in Scotland, has sold a store in Airdrie, North Lanarkshire.

The store, which was sold alongside some other properties, and has now been purchased by Sathish Kumar Thangavel.

The property includes a double-fronted retail unit with ancillary space and is in a predominately residential area of Airdrie, North Lanarkshire. Much of its trade comes from the surrounding areas including the local academy.

Steve Rodell, managing director of retail at property adviser Christie & Co, said: “We are delighted to have completed on the sale of this Spar convenience store, especially given current economic uncertainty.

“The Covid-19 pandemic has highlighted the importance of local shops to their nearby communities, and we wish Thangavel the best of luck in his new venture.”

The property was sold off an asking price of £25,000 leasehold.
