Morrisons has launched a food delivery service aimed at the thousands of students who are self-isolating in halls and campuses.

The delivery service will launch at the Birley and Cambridge Halls at Manchester Met University and will expand to other universities if successful.

Students at those campuses will be able to send an email to place their order and it will be delivered to them the following day by Morrisons between 5pm – 7pm.

Students will be able to choose from five different food boxes: Meat Essentials, Vegetarian Essentials, Easy Meals for the Week, and Big Night In. The supermarket will also be offering a choice of drinks.

David Potts, Morrisons chief executive, said: “Students have asked for our help and that’s why we are making sure they can safely access affordable food at this very difficult time. We’re playing our full part in feeding the nation so that no one is left behind.”
