On behalf of FastSpring, I am thrilled to introduce a brand new and improved FastSpring user interface!

This comprehensive project to modernize our user interface and improve the overall user experience is the result of our consistent effort to provide a robust and easy-to-use full-service ecommerce platform for companies that sell software, SaaS, and digital products around the world.

Why Now?

Over the years we have played a significant role in our sellers’ growth. We have watched and listened as our sellers have become more sophisticated and expanded their product offerings. In turn, our platform has evolved in tandem with our sellers in order to offer a world-class ecommerce experience.

Last year we came together as an organization to discuss the future of FastSpring and ecommerce on a global scale. We looked at key trends like the expansion of SaaS and the incredible pace of growth that our sellers are experiencing by removing the frictions of selling globally. Then we compared these trends to what we were seeing in our platform, and the feedback we had received from our community of sellers. We also thought long and hard about who we wanted to be and how we could best help.

This initial upgrade to the UI marks the first big step towards the future of FastSpring by accelerating the path to value that our sellers experience when using the platform.

What’s Changing?

Our goal with this release was to help our sellers easily unearth the existing capabilities and value of the FastSpring platform. This led us to focus on enhancing areas of the platform that would have the greatest impact on their efficiency, productivity, and satisfaction.

Specifically, we wanted our sellers to be able to:

  • Accomplish tasks in FastSpring quickly and efficiently
  • Manage products, orders, and subscriptions in a more comprehensive way
  • Understand key platform features and functionality in a more intuitive way

And while we took the time to update the colors, fonts, and design elements in the platform to seamlessly blend with the experience on the FastSpring website, the new user interface is more than just a facelift.

At the end of the day, the updates to the FastSpring platform are about providing intuitive access to FastSpring’s full-service ecommerce experience that helps our sellers grow their business while they focus on what they do best—building great software.

Here are some of the changes we have made to the FastSpring platform.

Vertical Left-Hand Navigation

The vertical left-hand navigation increases scalability, visibility, and usability. All of the menus and sub-menus that you are used to are included in the drop-down menus of the navigation. As we plan for the future in building out new features and capabilities, the vertical navigation gives us a better, cleaner way to design our sellers’ workflow.

Updated Product Catalog Layout

As our sellers have grown so have the list of products and subscriptions. With this new table format, sellers will be able to filter and find products more quickly to access information or make changes.

Quickly Switch Between Stores

The ability to manage multiple stores within one account has always been a popular capability for our growing and expanding sellers. This upgrade makes it faster and easier to switch between stores with a drop-down menu in the upper right corner of the FastSpring App.

Updated Pages for Activities, Order Details, and Subscription Overview

The Order Details and Subscriptions overview pages are some of the most highly trafficked pages in our platform. We focused on reorganizing the layouts and flows of these pages to ensure our sellers can accomplish related tasks quickly. This results in a more intuitive path to complete important workflows.

Thank You to Our Seller Community

All of these changes to our user interface would not have been possible without the support and feedback of our incredible seller community. To that end, I want to say thank you.

I, along with the rest of the FastSpring team, am committed to continuing to focus on building the most robust and feature-rich ecommerce platform to help companies of all sizes be exceptional at selling software worldwide. This is just the beginning.

For those of you not yet partnering with us… if there was ever a time to take FastSpring for a test drive, it’s now – create your free account to see for yourself!
