The fund, which was set up last year shortly after the first lockdown, reached a total of £250,000. So far, £150,000 in grants has been paid to 120 members that have struggled financially, which means £100,000 is still available.

NFRN national president, Stuart Reddish, said: “While some members have actually flourished during the Covid pandemic, others have seen their businesses decimated by having to close their doors for months or have had their footfall drastically reduced because of their location.

“I understand that our members are proud business people and may be reluctant to ask for help, but we all need help sometimes. The NFRN is a community, and we exist to help each other. If your business has suffered as a result of these unprecedented times, I urge you not to wait until it’s too late and apply for a grant now.”
