Chris Law, head of sales and marketing at Equi’s Ice Cream, said: “Consumers are snacking more than ever before, and local convenience with high-quality Scottish provenance and flavour choice are key.

“We understand that our customers want to enjoy premium quality ice cream that tastes great, but they also want more eating on the go choices.

“Sales have been booming for our low cal and dairy-free flavours, and it reflects new consumer behaviours and lifestyle choices. Ice-cream is no longer just an after-dinner or dessert treat; it is an off-the-shelf buy from your local shop that you can eat instantly.”

The brand said it has seen record summer sales of its low calorie, gluten-free Vanilla 98 ice-cream and its dairy-free Strictly Strawberry.
