Customers will be able to choose from freshly baked pizza from an in-store oven, drinks from a self-service coffee machine and orange juicer, and a selection of sushi products from Sushi Gourmet.

The 4,500sq ft store includes a grab-and-go station at the front of the store. The station has been designed to provide customers with a selection of fresh food at their fingertips to help fuel them for their busy day. The specially-curated station will include fresh pastries, fruit and snacks from 7am through to close.

The layout of the store has also been designed with busy customers in mind, with more space allocated to the checkout area for a faster experience. The store also features colourful displays and neon lights to showcase fresh in-store offers.

The store, which will trade from 7am to midnight Monday to Saturday and open 12pm – 6pm on Sunday, also offers click-and-collect for Argos and Tu. The outlet has created 24 new jobs.

Graham Biggart, director of commercial operations at Sainsbury’s, said: “We’re excited to be opening our latest format ‘Food on the Move’ store in the vibrant heart of London. We’ve tailored our ranges and store design to meet the needs of our customers; whether that’s for a coffee and tasty breakfast snack, some lunchtime inspiration or healthy choices for a meal later. Our hot pizza and Sushi Gourmet counters will also make eating on the go even more convenient.”
