The purpose-built new store, located at the Newhall Neighbourhood Centre, includes a free ATM, bakery, hot food, and Costa coffee. The outlet will open between 7am-10pm daily, will create 14 new jobs, and will run on 100% renewable electricity.

Amy Ryan, Co-op’s store manager, said: “We are delighted to have the opportunity to make such a significant investment, and the team is really looking forward to serving the community. Co-op is committed to connecting communities and making a difference locally, and our aim is to operate at the heart of local life.”

The store is looking for a local not-for-profit organisation to partner with its Food Share scheme, which is designed to not only minimise food waste, but also to share food with those in need in the community.
