The chain is focusing on the “food for tonight” occasion, which is increasingly important for convenience retailers, with its latest £5 meal promotion.

The value offer comprises a four-pack of Birds Eye breaded cod fish cakes, a two-pack of Birds Eye battered fish fillets, a 750g pack of McCain Naked oven chips and a 375g pack of Birds Eye garden peas.

A four-pack of Nestlé Extrême ice cream cones is also included in the deal – saving shoppers £7.22 on the combined recommended retail prices of all the featured products.

David Lunn, wholesale category controller for frozen at Nisa, said: “Continued restrictions across the country around socialising, and financial uncertainty, mean that many people are still staying at home and preparing evening meals for the whole household.

“Shoppers may also be more likely to budget and plan their meals in advance and so will be looking for products that provide an affordable and easy meal solution.

“The frozen category presents a great way for retailers to demonstrate convenience and value to customers and our £5 deals continue to be very popular as they offer huge savings on well-known family favourites that are great value and easy to prepare.

“This deal is available to help stretch  shopping budgets that little bit further.”

The latest £5 meal deal promotion is being promoted through Nisa’s website and its social media channels.
