Lumnia Suspended uses three UV-LED lamps to attract flying insects while “blending seamlessly into its surroundings”.
Rentokil said the unit provides two different ways to catch insects – encapsulation or glue board versions.
The company said the encapsulation method traps insets on an adhesive film that automatically winds onto a clean glue surface. This hygienically contains caught flies and prevents any insect fragments leaving the fly control unit, thereby reducing the risk of cross contamination.
The unit uses a very low amount of energy when compared to other light traps and it can “save businesses up to 50% on energy costs compared to traditional fly catchers”.
Berwyn Evans, head of small and medium-sized enterprises for Rentokil Pest Control, said: “Businesses are under more pressure than ever trying to balance issues such as hygiene compliance and sustainability amongst other commercial objectives.
“Lumnia Suspended is part of our UV-LED range of fly control products that help businesses more effectively manage flying insects to keep their premises hygienic and compliant.”
