The refit was originally planned for the anniversary of the store’s 40th year of trading, but was delayed by the pandemic.

Owner Jacqui Dales told Talking Retail: “We are almost finished having our refit which started on the 2 November. We traded from a temporary shop last week, in the part of our shop that wasn’t having work done, but are now open as normal. We have three days of work to the outside and some finishing touches to go.”

She added: “We have always had a strong food-to-go business as we’re a bakery and this refit was about making the most of our heritage as a bakery and about taking our food offering to a higher level. We will now be able to offer a wider range of takeaway foods and cakes.”

The store currently offers a delivery service, with nearby homes receiving free delivery, while homes further away have to pay a £3 charge.
