Weetabix On The Go rolls out 100% recyclable bottles

Weetabix has unveild a new design for its Weetabix On The Go drinks to make then 100% recyclable.

The new packaging will roll-out this month and are made from 30% recycled plastic, featuring a “100% recyclable” logo on the lids.

The roll out of the new bottles will also see the launch of a new social media campaign to encourage people to recycle at home and when on the move.

The brand said shoppers are seeking out brands that help to generate less waste and a reduced carbon footprint – with 62% now wanting to buy fro sustainable companies.

Emma Varlow, general manager at Weetabix On The Go, said: “After facing several challenges throughout the process, we’re thrilled to have made the final bottle design with 30% recycled plastic and are now considering how to bring that up to 50% or higher. We are also working on making the bottle lighter, therefore, reducing the amount of plastic used by 10% in every single bottle.”
