The latest franchisee store is the long-established AM Harris in Newport, Wales, which opened in its new format this week. The store, in the Croespenmaen area, offers food-to-go and has a post office.

The other recent new member was in Burnham, Buckinghamshire, for a store which was previously a Budgens.

A Morrisons spokeswoman said the group was extremely pleased with the progress of the Morrisons Daily format.

Although independent franchisees are joining Morrisons Daily all the time, about two-thirds of Morrisons Daily stores have come from the former McColl’s group. The spokeswoman said many of those stores are still being converted.

Prominent independent retailers have joined Morrisons Daily, as well as groups including Harvest Energy, Highland Fuels, Rontec and Sandpiper.
