The store has been owned by John and Bryony Barker who made the decision to bring the business to market to retire from the sector.

John Barker said: “It is with mixed emotions that we leave Peasedown News. We are sad to say goodbye to the many friends that both Bryony and I have made over the last 24 years but also happy to relax and take things easy for a while.”

The business has been purchased by Sriluxman Srikanthalingam for an undisclosed price.

Jamie Williams, senior business agent in Christie & Co’s Retail team handled the sale and comments “I am delighted for John and Bryony. Peasedown News is a fantastic business, they worked hard to create that and I wish them well moving forward.

“The retail sector has continued to boom in 2021 and we are seeing more and more stores come to the market to satisfy the high levels of demand for businesses we are experiencing.”
