The poll by consumer research firm Piplsay found just 43% of Brits would be excited to see an Amazon Fresh store in their community, with 23% of people saying they prefer regular stores. In total, 44% of men and 42% of women said they would be excited to have an Amazon Fresh store near them.

In addition, only 52% of respondents believe Amazon’s cashless, app-driven stores will succeed in the UK, 32% said to some extent, and 20% to a big extent.

The poll finds that 36% of Millennials and 33% of Gen Xers think Amazon Fresh-like stores will be a success, compared to 31% of Gen Zers.

However, the research shows 54% of respondents say they think Amazon Fresh will be a threat to the leading supermarkets.

The poll reveals 72% of Gen Zers and 63% of Millennials think Amazon Fresh will be a threat to the existing brick-and-mortar retail giants in the UK.
