The deal will see the continuation of PayPoint services across Southern Co-op stores taking it over the 20-year mark.

Danny Vant, client services director at PayPoint, said: “This partnership enables millions of people across southern England to continue using services they have increasingly relied on throughout 2020. Our ambition to transform convenience for the modern era can only be achieved through strategic partnerships with businesses, including Co-op, that share our belief in putting the priorities of local communities throughout the UK first.”

Andrew Farndell, head of trading and format at Southern Co-op, added: “PayPoint plays an important part in what we offer customers in our stores and allows us to offer the range of services convenience stores are increasingly known for. Be it shopping, bill payment, or access to cash, PayPoint’s technology helps us keep footfall high throughout our network.”
