The show – SRS20: New Opportunities – will take place online next month in a new virtual setting.

The one-day conference will feature 90 minutes of scheduled semi-live sessions and an hour of on-demand sessions that can be watched at home.

The semi-live sessions will include updates on AF Blakemore’s strategic plans, its County Bridge fresh meat rollout, its new food-to-go launch and Spar brand plans.

The on-demand sessions will include updates on digital strategy, home delivery and value initiatives,

seasonal opportunities and must-stock deals of the day.

AFB Group commercial director Jerry Marwood said: “SRS is the cornerstone of our activity each year and we’re delighted that we’re able to host this event during 2020.

“This year has seen our retailers face some unprecedented challenges, but also some fantastic opportunities.

“AFB has launched new initiatives that are helping stores to thrive and differentiate themselves in the marketplace, and this event is all about these.

“We’ve got a packed agenda of speakers, a tradeshow featuring all of our key suppliers and our usual selection of deals of the day – just delivered via a new virtual setting.

“Once again, SRS will provide a great opportunity to interact with key decision-makers within the AFB group and engage with other retailers and suppliers, to find out more about product range, brand activity and new product development.”

Key presenters will include AFB Group commercial managing director, Jerry Marwood; Spar UK managing director Louise Hoste; Blakemore Retail managing director Matt Teague and AFB Group marketing director Sarah Ellis.

Those signing up for the event will also hear from Spar retailers Tom Dant, Giles Morrell and Elfed Roberts during the event which takes place on 3 November.

AFB is the largest division of Spar UK, owning 280 Spar outlets and serving more than 950 across England and Wales
