Kicking off on 26 December, the competition will offer shoppers the chance to win cash prizes, including a top prize of £5,000, by finding a golden Creme Egg from their local store.

Convenience stores who register a winning golden egg and use Cadbury promotional display material also have a chance of winning cash prizes or Amazon vouchers, up to £1,000.

There will be 200 golden eggs up for grabs, 30 of which will be available to convenience stores.

The promotion will be supported by digital, out-of-home, and PR activities, as well as a “retro” new pack design.

Mondelēz said two out of three people buy Cadbury Creme Eggs for non-Easter related consumption, “strengthening the importance of stocking up on the product from the beginning of the year and highlighting its prominence in the range”.
